Greece 2024

In April 2024, we travelled to Greece to work with refugee communities in Athens, Thessaloniki and Ioannina.

Over our 10 days in the country, we worked with some incredible organisations providing activities and education with children who have been displaced from all over the world region; such as METAdrasi, Second Tree, Network for Children’s Rights and many more!

Our team - Ruby, Elly, James, Abby and Lauren - performed 16 shows to over 250 children in refugee settlements, community centres, schools and youth centres!

Through our interactive, wordless music-theatre show entitled ‘Ready Player One: A Video Game Adventure’ and our energetic workshops, we saw a transformation in the children we worked with, and we could see that they were in dire need of help to be reconnected to the crucial elements of childhood, through storytelling, music, and play.

Check out these posts from our inspiring work with The Failte Centre in Athens, Open Cutural Center in Polykastro and METAdrasi in Thessaloniki

NCR Culture Lab, Athens

“Your team's visit to the Culture Lab was a very beautiful and entertaining experience for the children. You immediately adapted your action to the space; you created a pleasant and safe environment where every child had the opportunity to actively participate and express themselves freely. The musical, the instruments and the theatrics of your group impressed the children, while the movement games were a very enjoyable group process for them. Thank you very much!”

NCR Youth Centre, Athens

“It was a very interesting activity, full of energy, music and play. The children were excited about the opportunity to see and experiment with new musical instruments such as the cello and flute. Also, the group theater exercises unlocked even the shyest children and they participated too. Thank you so much!”

Thank you!

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made a donation towards our project! Thanks to your support, we managed to reach hundreds children living in uncertain and difficult circumstances. Through our work, we brought them smiles, laughter and play, helping them express and process their emotions in a healthy way, created a sense a togetherness, and showed them the magic and healing effect of live music and theatre. We really value your support!

We’d also like to thank all over the amazing organisations we worked with across Greece. Facilitating activities with refugees in Greece is becoming increasingly difficult due to government legislation and police restrictions. We really appreciate these organisations giving their time and resources to help us facilitate our activity!
