Over one million Syrian refugees are currently living in Jordan’s refugee camps, forming part of the most severe crisis of forcibly displaced people since WWII. Among these are many children, having fled their war-ridden countries, who are confronted daily with the angst and trauma of having no place to call home, and no guarantee of a safe future.
At Wind-Up Penguin, we want to ensure every child gets access to the crucial elements of a healthy childhood: laughter, stories, games, and a safe space to play and be creative. In 2018, eight of us headed to Jordan, to share a new music & theatre show with over 3000 refugee children. We collaborated with NGOs on the ground such as Save The Children, I Learn Jo, and Steps.
