Many children in Peru live under the poverty line. Financial corruption and instability signify that children don’t get the education they deserve – when they get any education at all, young people being often forced into child labor.
In 2015, we at Wind-Up Penguin devised a new children’s show about a moustache, an adventurous young girl, and a toy Penguin travelling around the world.
We shared this show, alongside a creative workshop, with over 1500 children in Peru. We collaborated with many NGOs in Lima and Cusco. We’re humbled to have sparked inspiration for one of our contact organisations, El Quijote Para La Vida, to create their own orchestra for underprivileged children in the Lima slums.
